Stock market challenge 2014

StockmarketThe Stock Market Challenge is a one day event where each team competes to make most profit from a portfolio of £21,000 and a selection of shares.

A team of 5 Year 11 Business Studies students, with an interest in pursuing a career in finance, competed against other schools’ at Campbell College Belfast, during a session of simulated trading on the financial markets, making decisions under pressure, taking calculated risks and experiencing the excitement of the trading floor.

This enjoyable and rewarding challenge gave our students an insight into career opportunities within the financial services sector and helped them develop important skills such as communication, problem-solving and working with others. 

The winning Cookstown team managed to increase their original portfolio by an amazing £42,000 through sheer determination and nerves of steel.
