Year 8 Challenge Day
Year 8 House Challenge Day (Mon 20 June) was a real success and pupils were certainly competitively engaged in all the day had to offer. The House Leaders and Deputy House Leaders played their part in motivating, guiding and marshalling the pupils in the House to always give of their best.
The Honours Group in school organised activities for the year group and a balance of skill, determination and team work was needed to negotiate the climbing wall, penalty & hoop shoot, blindfolded games, tug of war and orienteering course. Hopefully the photos taken on the day convey some of the enjoyment experienced by pupils.
In a closely contested round of outdoor events Drum emerged in the lead on House Challenge Day, but with a table quiz in the afternoon there were still plenty of House points to be gained (or not as the case may be!). Following some tough general knowledge, photo and music rounds the points from the quiz were added to the outdoor activities and Lissan House led by Mrs Johnston and Miss Erskine emerged as the Year 8 victors.
Congratulations to everyone involved and hopefully we can look forward to many more competitive events and energetic team spirit in the new academic year.
