Emma-Jackie-soccerTwo pupils from CHS were selected to play for the Northern Ireland Under 17 UEFA European Women’s Championship held in Northern Ireland last week.

Jacqueline and Emma , both Year 12 pupils, represented on the very successful Northern Ireland side who sealed progress in the mini tournament topping their group.

Going into the final games any of three teams could have won the first qualifying round section, with England and Northern Ireland on four points, one ahead of Italy. And it was the home side who confirmed their place in the second qualifying round draw on 20 th November as they defeated Israel 4-1 while in the other match Italy overcame England by the same scoreline.

Results were as follows:

Northern Ireland 1 Italy 0

Northern Ireland 0 England 0

Northern Ireland 4 Israel 1
