Girls Football Update

13 June 2016

P1030083On Friday the girls played their first football match of the season against Integrated College Dungannon. This year we were able to play a Year 8/9 team and then a year 10/11 team.

The year 8/9 played extremely well for their first match together. They tried to string their passes together and had several shots on goal. The girls were rewarded by winning 2-1 in the last few minutes of the match. Well done!

The Year 10/11 team have played together for a number of years and this was evident in their passing and linking skills. They had excellent movement off the ball and created many chances. The girls won the match 14-2.

Unfortunately this was the last match for some of my year 11s as they miss their annual tournament due to Duke of Ed commitments. This means we have a very young squad going to Belfast, but gives me great enthusiasm for the years ahead.

I would like to thank the Year 11’s for all their commitment to football over the years. They have been a dedicated and talented group and I wish them well in their DOE this week.
