Social Media Project: Age NI

15 May 2013

Social Media ProjectA group of Year 14 Health and Social Care and ICT students from Cookstown High School recently participated in the Social Media Age NI project funded by OFMDFM  and held in Cookstown Central Library.

The aim of the initiative was to promote and support the development of inter-generational practice by bringing together older people and younger people from the local area to meet and learn from each other.

The students taught the older people how to access and use social media tools such as Facebook, Skype and Twitter. This gave them the opportunity to interact with each other, learn about their life experiences and foster good relations. The project was a thoroughly enjoyable and worthwhile experience for all those involved.
