Two draws in Irish Schools Qualifiers

28 September 2015

Cookstown have played two irish schools qualifying matches and drawn both of them.  They are in a group of four with RBAI, Friends School Lisburn and Campbell College Belfast.

CHS had a 2-2 draw with RBAI with both goals coming from Scott McCabe, followed by a 1-1 draw with Friends School Lisburn where Jack Dingley was the goal scorer.

This leaves them currently sitting in third place in their group with one match against Campbell left to play. Another draw would leave them in a playoff with the runner up in the other group, whilst a two nil win would guarantee them automatic qualification and a win of any kind would leave them relying on other results to see them through.

On Saturday morning Cookstown hosted Bangor Grammar school and the results were as follows.

U13's won 4-0 with goals coming from Stewart McMullan x 2 and Jack Patterson x 2.

U15's had a close match narrowly losing 2-1 with James Warwick scoring the Cookstown goal.
