Major ICT Investment in CHS

27 March 2015

IMG 6779-webCHS has just announced a major investment in ICT facilities for the year ahead.  The investment is part of the High School’s strategy to ensure all its pupils have access to the very latest equipment and that ICT is a major feature of high quality learning and teaching.  Phase one of the development of facilities includes the opening of an additional computer suite and the roll out of Apple Mac computers into the Art and Music departments.

Later this term phase two will see each subject department provided with ipad minis while ipad minis and new TV facilities will be placed in the library.  Specialist training has been organised to ensure that all teachers are up to date with how to use ipads effectively to improve the learning experience in class.  Work with ipads began in the school last year with pupils in several departments being involved in projects, this lead the school leadership to conclude that there was huge potential for them to contribute positively to learning in all areas.

Headmaster Mr Graham Montgomery explained, “At this time of budgetary restrictions it’s vital to prioritise and ensure that money is spent strategically to maximise high quality learning and teaching.  What we do in school must stay relevant to the lives of young people outside school, must provide them with outstanding opportunities and must prepare them adequately for employment after school.  We are delighted to have been able to make this investment which will benefit every pupil in every subject”.
