NI Netball Shield & Plate success

26 February 2016

Congratulations go to the Intermediate and Junior Netball Squads who have successfully made it to the Northern Ireland Shield and Plate finals on 15th March 2016.

The Juniors faced Friends School Lisburn in the semi-final of the NI plate and won convincingly 22-7. They will now face Assumption Grammar school in the finals.

The Intermediate squad faced Wallace in the semi-final of the NI Shield. This was always going to be a well contested match and the girls had to work hard throughout the match. It took until the final quarter for Cookstown to pull ahead, winning 26-16.

The Minor squad also played in the semi-final of the Shield this week but were unfortunate to be facing a strong Lagan squad. The task proved too much for our minors and they lost 20 goals to 10. Regardless, this was a great achievement for the minors to reach this stage in their first year competing at this high standard of netball.

Well done to all squads for this success and good luck to the Junior and Intermediates in the final.
