Public Health Agency - Coronavirus advice

25th Feb 2020

The Public Health Agency has provided an advice leaflet for sharing with schools due to the current outbreak of Coronavirus.

The links below provide the full detail of the documents but the most pertinent advice contained therein (provided you have not been in direct contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19, Coronavirus) is how to prevent spread of infection.

The general principles are very much common sense and include:

  • washing your hands with soap and water.  Only using sanitiser if handwashing facilities are not available.
  • cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the bin.
  • avoid touching your eyes, nose, mouth with unwashed hands.
  • if you are worried about your symptoms, please TELEPHONE your GP for advice.  Do not go directly to your GP or other healthcare environment.
